Paint & Computer Inspection

Car Paint Thickness & Computer Inspection Before Buying

300AED

This service combines paint thickness measurement with an electronic scan of the vehicle's systems. Paint readings help reveal repainting, filler and previous repairs, while the computer scan reads current or stored faults that a visual check alone would never show.

Car paint thickness measurement and OBD computer scan in the UAE

Paint thickness inspection

We measure paint or coating thickness: the gauge reads the thickness of the paint layer and compares readings between the car's panels.

  • Paint thickness measurement on every measurable panel.
  • Hood.
  • Roof.
  • Trunk lid.
  • Doors.
  • Front fenders.
  • Rear quarter panels.
  • Accessible pillars and edges.
  • Comparing readings across panels.
  • Identifying repainted panels.
  • Readings that indicate filler or a heavier repair.
  • Overspray on edges and rubber trims.
  • Signs of removed panels or disturbed bolts.
  • A clear map or list of the paint readings.
  • Key photos and readings attached to the report.

How we read the paint results

A high reading does not automatically mean a heavy accident; it is assessed alongside the distribution of readings and the visual signs. Factory paint readings also differ by manufacturer, panel type and material.

Vehicle computer scan

We scan the systems and sensors that the vehicle and the scan tool allow.

  • Electronic modules supported by the vehicle and the tool.
  • Engine ECU fault codes.
  • Transmission TCM fault codes.
  • ABS and electronic braking systems.
  • SRS airbag system.
  • Body control modules (BCM).
  • Electronic steering system.
  • Four-wheel-drive systems, where fitted.
  • Sensor and parking-aid systems, depending on the car's equipment.
  • Electronic climate control, where available.
  • Current, stored and pending codes the system exposes.
  • Live data and sensor readings, where supported.
  • Explaining the warning lights on the dashboard.
  • No fault codes are cleared during the inspection.
  • The diagnostic scan report is attached.
  • A plain-language explanation of the key codes and notes.

What the customer receives

A clear result combining the paint readings and the diagnostic report.

  • Paint thickness readings and result.
  • Which panels are repainted or show filler.
  • The computer scan report.
  • The most important fault codes and notes.
  • Photos and a simple explanation of the result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the computer scan detect every fault?

No. It reveals the faults and codes recorded by the electronic systems, but it is not a substitute for a full mechanical inspection.

Does a high paint reading mean a heavy accident?

Not always. It may indicate a cosmetic repaint, filler or a previous repair, and it is assessed with the other readings and visual signs.

Are the fault codes cleared?

No. The codes are read and documented only; nothing is cleared during the inspection.

This is a standalone specialised inspection for AED 300 and is not a replacement for the full vehicle inspection. AED 50 distance fee applies to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain.
